Fantastische review van de Boenicke W5 SE+ op HiFi.be!

Wij zijn dolgelukkig met de enorm lovende review van de Boenicke W5 SE+ speakers door Werner Ero die eerder deze week verscheen op HiFi.be

Een korte samenvatting van de conclusie: 

De Boenicke W5 SE+ speakers zijn een unicum, volgens Werner de meest bevredigende luidsprekers die je in dit formaat kan aanschaffen. De speakers zijn iedere cent waard en kunnen, mits ze goed opgesteld staan en adequaat aangestuurd worden, zelfs verwende audiofielen waterige ogen laten krijgen, ongeacht muzikale smaak.

dCS brengt digitale volumeregeling en volumevergrendeling naar Lina

Zoals alle dCS streaming DAC’s is de dCS Lina Network DAC ontworpen met oog op upgrades. Flexibele firmware biedt onbeperkte mogelijkheden voor toekomstige verbeteringen via eenvoudige software-updates.

Met Lina 1.1 heeft dCS hun digitale volumeregeling geïmplementeerd. Gebruikers hebben toegang tot de volumeregeling via het aanraakscherm van Lina of via de nieuwste versie van dCS Mosaic.

Lina kan nu worden gebruikt in systemen zonder voorversterker, waarbij de eindversterker rechtstreeks wordt aangestuurd door de Lina. Deze aanpak elimineert onnodige interferentie en vermindert het aantal volumeregelaars, versterkingsfases en interconnecties in het signaalpad. Een strategie die buitengewone zuiverheid en transparantie oplevert.

De uitgang van de DAC kan nu ook beter worden afgestemd op de ingangsspecificaties van een aangesloten voorversterker of hoofdtelefoonversterker, zodat een analoge volumeregelaar in zijn ideale werkgebied kan worden gebruikt.

De software-update is vanaf nu beschikbaar.

McIntosh Trade-in

We are chuffed with Werner Ero’s wonderful review of the Boenicke W5 SE+ speakers that appeared on HiFi.be last week.

The Boenicke W5 SE+ speakers are one-of-a-kind, according to Werner the most satisfying speakers you can buy in this size. The W5 SE+s are worth every penny and if set up properly and driven adequately even spoiled audiophiles will be moved by their performance, regardless of musical taste.

dCS brings digital volume control and volume lock features to Lina

Like all dCS streaming DACs, the dCS Lina network DAC was designed with upgradability in mind. Flexible firmware provides unlimited scope for future improvement, with new features and enhancements delivered via simple software updates.

With Lina 1.1, dCS have implemented their digital volume control. Users can access the volume control using Lina’s touch panel or via the latest version of dCS Mosaic.

Lina can now be used in systems without a preamp, driving a power amplifier directly. This approach eliminates unnecessary redundancy – reducing the number of volume controls, gain stages, and interconnects in the signal path – a strategy that provides extraordinary purity and transparency.

The DAC’s output can also now be better matched with the input specifications of a connected preamp or headphone amplifier, allowing an analogue volume control to be used in its ideal operational region.
