The Aqua LinQ Core and UPnP is a reference-grade network interface designed for uncompromising digital audio streaming. Built around Aqua’s philosophy of simplicity, precision, and in-house development, it combines HQPlayer Core, NAA, and UPnP/DLNA rendering into a single modular platform. As a result, it delivers a pure, bit-perfect signal with exceptional clarity, timing, and musical realism.
Built with a clear audio-first philosophy
The LinQ is developed from a precise idea: avoid generic solutions and focus entirely on sound quality. Aqua designs both hardware and software in-house to meet strict SQ standards. Because of this, every element of the LinQ contributes directly to cleaner signal transmission and a more natural listening experience.
Highly modular and future-proof design
The LinQ platform consists of independent modules, each optimized for a specific function. Every module includes its own dedicated power supply and connects to the main platform individually. Therefore, performance remains consistent and isolated, while future upgrades can be implemented without replacing the entire system.
No-compromise audio engine
At its core, the LinQ integrates HQPlayer Core, NAA, and UPnP/DLNA rendering. The HQPlayer Core works as a zero-configuration audio engine for Roon, with the Sygnalyst license pre-installed. As a result, setup is completely plug-and-play, allowing immediate access to high-end streaming performance.
When used with Roon, HQPlayer handles the final audio processing, while Roon manages the music library and streaming services such as Qobuz and Tidal. Consequently, you benefit from both advanced sound quality and seamless usability.

Advanced processing with custom platform
The LinQ Core uses a powerful i.MX8 64-bit ARM processor combined with a lightweight UNIX-based operating system. Aqua optimizes this system to run only essential audio processes. Because of this, latency remains low and system efficiency stays high, which directly improves playback quality.
Galvanic isolation and internal LAN switch
All communication paths between modules are galvanically isolated to prevent noise and interference. In addition, Aqua integrates a custom-built LAN switch within the system. This design further improves signal purity. As a result, network-related noise is minimized and overall sound quality improves significantly.
USB-free signal path with AQlink
The LinQ avoids USB connections entirely and instead uses AQlink PRO, Aqua’s proprietary I2S interface. This approach removes a common source of signal degradation. Therefore, digital data reaches the DAC with greater accuracy and lower jitter.
High-performance FPGA output stage
A dedicated FPGA stage with proprietary coding manages digital output. It supports AQlink I2S, AES/EBU, Dual-AES, and S/PDIF connections. Consequently, the LinQ ensures compatibility with a wide range of high-end DACs while maintaining a pure, bit-perfect signal.
Dedicated power and premium construction
Two separate low-noise C-core transformers power the network and digital sections independently. In addition, the anti-resonant aluminum chassis with Nextel coating reduces vibration and interference. Therefore, both electrical and mechanical stability contribute to consistent performance.
Flexible streaming and rendering options
The LinQ supports multiple network modules, including HQPlayer Core + NAA, UPnP/DLNA renderer, Squeezelite, and TIDAL Connect. This flexibility allows the system to adapt to different streaming ecosystems. As a result, it remains relevant and versatile for years to come.
