Direct Power System for greater accuracy

The AT-ART1000X uses Audio-Technica’s unique Direct Power System. Instead of placing the moving coils behind the cantilever, the dual coils sit directly above the stylus tip. Therefore, the cartridge avoids many of the limits found in conventional designs. It captures even the smallest musical details with outstanding speed and precision.

New rectangular coil design

The new rectangular coils provide a larger surface inside the magnetic field. As a result, they track strong groove modulations more accurately while increasing output and extending bass response. Consequently, low frequencies sound deeper, tighter, and more controlled without losing speed or clarity.

Premium materials throughout

Each coil uses ultra-fine 20 μm PCOCC (Pure Copper by Ohno Continuous Casting) wire and features a non-magnetic core. Audio-Technica hand winds every coil with great precision. In addition, an ultra-thin protective film surrounds the coils before they fit into a powerful magnetic circuit. This design produces a 0.22 mV output with a low 3.5-ohm impedance for a pure and accurate signal.

Precision stylus and rigid construction

The AT-ART1000X combines a solid boron cantilever with a line-contact stylus for highly accurate groove tracing. A rigid titanium base supports the magnetic system, while the aluminium body reduces unwanted resonance. In addition, a special coating protects the magnetic circuit against corrosion. Therefore, the cartridge delivers stable performance for many years.

Simple and secure installation
