Audio Technica AT-VM530xEN

The AT-VM530xEN is part of Audio-Technica’s premium VMx series, redefining warmth and realism with a wide soundstage rich in musical details. Like all our MM cartridges, its updated design closely follows the cutting head used to create the vinyl master. As a result, the position of the two magnets relative to the groove ensures excellent channel separation and a broad frequency response for both left and right channels.

Furthermore, the VMx series introduces material and design changes that refine the sound for faster response and improved musical dynamics.

Key features

All VMx cartridges feature a Dual Moving Magnet (MM) generator with paratoroidal coil construction: two coils placed in series per channel for significantly higher efficiency. The left and right channels are separated by a central shield plate to reduce crosstalk and maintain a clear stereo image.

The coil wire is upgraded to PCUHD® (pure copper with ultra-high stretchability) for rich and nuanced audio reproduction. To enhance transient response, the number of coil windings has been slightly reduced. This makes the cartridge react faster to signal changes, delivering a stunningly clear and lifelike music experience.

The new lightweight, full elliptical stylus of 0.3 x 0.7 mil reduces the mass of the vibrating system, providing better frequency response and less distortion compared to a bonded stylus.

Ease of use

• Threaded mounting holes allow easy installation with just two screws, no nuts required.
• The new foldable stylus guard has a V-shaped cutout so you can easily see the stylus position and cue precisely.
