Description A table lamp with an undoubtedly programmatic name: in his design, in fact, Sam Hecht proceeds to eliminate the most characteristic components of this type, namely the base and the stem, resting the glass structure directly on the table. A further dematerialisation effect is determined by the transparency of the glass itself. Ultimately, “Semplice” looks like a metal canopy, containing the light, suspended in mid-air. The deliberate reduction of the constituent elements brings with it great attention to details and finishes, in particular the rotary dimmer located at the top of the lamp, used at the same time for joining the metal and glass, as well as the sophisticated galvanic work on the head or the plaited metal cables. Sam Hecht, famous for his approach to the project that is rigorous and poetic at the same time, begins his collaboration with O luce with “Semplice”.
