Phasemation EA-1500 Phono Amplifier
The Phasemation EA-1500 brings flagship-level analogue technology to a versatile vacuum tube phono amplifier. It inherits key technologies from the acclaimed EA-2000, including an LCR-type circuit and shielded, floating transformer structures. At the same time, its new dual-chassis design keeps the power supply separate from the amplifier section for cleaner performance.
Moreover, the EA-1500 supports MC, MM and optical cartridges. Balanced and unbalanced connections are also included. As a result, it can work with a wide range of modern and traditional analogue systems.
Flagship Technology, Refined for the EA-1500
Phasemation developed the EA-1500 using years of experience in high-end analogue design. Many of its key technologies come directly from the flagship EA-2000. These include the LCR phono circuit and carefully shielded transformer structures.
These technologies help the EA-1500 preserve delicate musical information. Furthermore, the design focuses on speed, clarity and a natural presentation.
Fast, Dynamic Vacuum Tube Design
The EA-1500 uses a vacuum tube phono amplifier with a non-NFB design. By avoiding negative feedback, Phasemation aims to achieve a fast and highly responsive sound.
The amplifier also operates at high voltage. Therefore, it can deliver an exceptionally wide dynamic range. Music can unfold with greater scale, contrast and natural expression.
New MC Step-Up Transformer
For moving-coil cartridges, the EA-1500 includes a newly refined step-up transformer. Phasemation based its design on the transformer used in the EA-1200, then carefully reworked the windings for the EA-1500.
The transformer uses highly regarded PC-Triple C wire. As a result, the delicate MC signal benefits from a carefully designed signal path before entering the phono amplification stage.
Ready for Optical Cartridges
The EA-1500 also supports the latest generation of optical cartridges. This marks an important expansion of the Phasemation phono platform.
A dedicated power transformer supplies the optical cartridge section. This provides stable power while keeping it separate from the main phono amplifier. In addition, the EA-1500 features a dedicated XLR input for optical cartridges.
The input accepts the unbalanced output of an optical cartridge through a conventional MC balanced analogue cable. This makes integration simple while offering greater flexibility for modern cartridge designs.
Independent Power Supply
Phasemation gives the EA-1500 a full-size separate power supply chassis. Inside, two power transformers provide independent power for the left and right channels.
The rectifier circuit uses 5U4GB vacuum tubes. Unlike semiconductor rectifiers, this design avoids typical switching noise. Therefore, the power supply can deliver clean and stable energy to the amplifier section.
Key Technologies
- EA-2000 technology: Incorporates advanced circuit and transformer technologies developed for Phasemation’s flagship model.
- LCR phono circuit: Uses a carefully designed LCR-type circuit for accurate and natural phono signal processing.
- Non-NFB vacuum tube design: Eliminates negative feedback for a fast and highly responsive presentation.
- Refined MC step-up transformer: Features redesigned windings and PC-Triple C wire for high-quality MC signal transfer.
- Optical cartridge support: Adds dedicated connections and power supply technology for modern optical cartridges.
- Separate power supply chassis: Keeps the power supply away from the amplifier section and provides independent power for each channel.
- 5U4GB vacuum tube rectifier: Provides clean power without the switching noise associated with typical semiconductor rectifiers.
- Balanced and unbalanced connections: Offers both XLR and RCA inputs and outputs for flexible system integration.
- Premium connectors: Uses NEUTRIK XLR connectors and gold-plated RCA terminals for reliable signal transfer.
- Hybrid mechanical insulators: Carefully selected metal combinations help control unwanted vibration and resonance.
Precision Mechanical Construction
Phasemation also pays close attention to mechanical design. The feet and other chassis components undergo careful sound tuning. Hybrid insulators made from different metals help suppress unwanted vibration.
The 1.6 mm top cover also receives a low-dielectric coating. This helps reduce the influence of magnetic distortion. Meanwhile, gold-plated connectors and relay contacts support clean and reliable signal transfer.
Designed for Every Generation of Analogue
The Phasemation EA-1500 is more than a traditional phono amplifier. It combines vacuum tube amplification, advanced transformer technology and modern cartridge support in one carefully engineered system.
Whether you use MC, MM, or optical cartridges, the EA-1500 is designed to reveal their full potential. With balanced connectivity, separate power supplies and technology inherited from the EA-2000, it offers a flexible foundation for a truly high-end analogue system.
From classic moving-coil designs to the latest optical cartridges, the Phasemation EA-1500 brings precision, speed, and natural musicality to every record.
