The Phasemation MA-5000 is a monaural vacuum tube power amplifier designed to deliver high-end sound using a fully triode-based circuit. It focuses on strong dynamics, high resolution, and natural musical expression. As a result, it aims to reproduce music with power, depth, and realism using a classic tube architecture.
Phasemation designs the MA-5000 to achieve the highest level of performance from the 211 tube platform. In addition, it combines transformer coupling, parallel single-ended output, and carefully separated power supplies. Therefore, it delivers stable operation and powerful speaker control with low distortion.
Parallel single-ended 211 output stage
The MA-5000 uses PSVANE WE-211 tubes in a parallel single-ended Class A configuration. It operates with fixed bias and dedicated power supplies for stable performance. As a result, it achieves high output power of over 45W while maintaining the natural character of the 211 tube.
Transformer-coupled 300B driver stage
The amplifier uses PSVANE WE-300B tubes as driver stages in a transformer-coupled design. In addition, this setup drives the WE-211 tubes more effectively and improves stability. Therefore, it ensures smooth signal transfer and strong control over speaker output.
Full triode non-feedback design
The MA-5000 uses a non-feedback circuit with triode tubes in all stages, including ECC803, 300B, and WE-211. Because of this, it delivers a natural and dynamic sound with strong musical expression and minimal artificial correction.
Lundahl transformers
The amplifier uses Lundahl interstage and output transformers. These components support stable bias control and accurate signal transfer. In addition, they are designed for 4–8Ω speaker loads, ensuring optimal power delivery and sound balance.
Dual transformer power supply
The MA-5000 uses separate power transformers for the driver and output stages. This design reduces electrical interference between stages. As a result, it improves clarity and supports clean signal amplification from low level to high power.
Low-noise power design
The power supply uses parallel 5R4G rectifier tubes and a double choke transformer design. In addition, all heater circuits use DC power. Therefore, the amplifier achieves very low noise and stable operation.
Balanced and flexible input control
The MA-5000 supports both balanced and unbalanced inputs. It also includes a transformer-based attenuator with selectable gain levels. In addition, it provides an input mute function for safe cable changes and system setup.
Mechanical design and construction
The amplifier uses thick aluminum panels for rigidity and TAOC cast iron feet to reduce vibration. In addition, it includes high-quality Furutech speaker terminals for stable connections. Therefore, it minimizes mechanical resonance and signal loss.
Operation and visual design
The MA-5000 includes a timer-controlled start system with LED status indication. It changes from standby to full operation after a short delay. In addition, its front glass panel uses a traditional Japanese cloisonné design for a refined appearance.
