Quad Platina Stream – The Digital Heart of Modern Hi-Fi
The Quad Platina Stream brings the bold Platina design language into the world of network audio. It shows clean lines, a solid metal body, and strong side heat sinks. The anodised front panel adds a calm, modern look. A single aluminium control knob and a clear 4.3-inch IPS display give the unit a simple and direct feel.
Streaming without compromise
The Platina Stream is made for listeners who want fast access to music. It runs on a stable and responsive streaming platform. Through Gigabit Ethernet or dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4/5 GHz), playback stays smooth and reliable. Album artwork loads quickly, and the menus respond right away.
The Quad Platina app for iOS and Android brings all services together. It supports Spotify, Tidal, Qobuz, TuneIn Radio, and local libraries. In addition, the app uses a strong indexing engine that keeps even large music collections easy to browse.
The app experience
The Platina app turns a phone or tablet into a clean and simple control panel. You can build playlists, manage folders, and switch between services with ease. Long-press menus help you edit tracks or albums quickly. Moreover, the app highlights high-resolution versions on Tidal and Qobuz so you always know when better quality is available.
Designed for easy integration
If you prefer to use your own streaming app, the Platina Stream supports Qobuz Connect, Tidal Connect, Spotify Connect, AirPlay 2, and standard UPnP. These systems hand over the audio stream directly to the device. As a result, playback stays stable and sounds cleaner.
AirPlay 2 also offers simple multi-room playback on Apple devices. Tidal and Qobuz Connect cast full-resolution audio without extra steps. Spotify Connect makes it easy to switch devices mid-track. In addition, the Stream works with Plex servers for users with large personal libraries.
The device is also Roon Ready, which ensures bit-perfect playback and smooth multi-room control.
Flagship DAC architecture
At its core, the Platina Stream uses the ESS Sabre ES9038PRO DAC. Two precision clocks reduce jitter and keep the signal clean. The DAC supports PCM up to 768 kHz and native DSD512. This matches the performance level of the Platina Integrated.
A Quad Arm® Cortex-A53 processor keeps artwork, playlists, and menus fast and responsive. You can also choose from five DAC filters and upsample PCM to 352.8 kHz or 384 kHz. These options help you fine-tune detail and smoothness.
Flexible system connectivity
The Platina Stream fits into many systems. It offers balanced XLR and RCA outputs, plus optical and coaxial digital outputs if you use an external DAC. This flexibility makes it suitable for compact setups or full reference systems.
Clear display and simple control
The 4.3-inch IPS display shows artwork, track data, and system menus with strong clarity. You can choose a clean artwork view, a detailed layout, or classic VU meters. The display also includes a dimming mode for late-night listening.
Control is possible through the app, the front knob, or the matching Quad system remote that comes with the Platina series.
A new digital benchmark for Quad
The Quad Platina Stream represents a careful and modern approach to digital music. Every detail—from the steel-lined chassis and gold-plated connectors to the DAC design and app experience—shows a focus on clarity and ease of use.
It is the most advanced wireless streamer Quad has built to date. It acts as a strong digital centrepiece for high-end systems and reflects the company’s vision for the future of audio.
