Rega AOS MC pre-amplifer

The Rega AOS is a dedicated moving coil phono preamplifier built to deliver pure analog sound. It takes its design from the reference-level Aura MC stage and uses a fully analogue circuit with no digital control. As a result, it delivers clear, detailed, and natural music reproduction.

The AOS focuses on signal purity and flexibility. It supports a wide range of moving coil cartridges and offers adjustable settings to match your system. In addition, it avoids unnecessary components in the signal path. Therefore, it keeps the music clean, direct, and true to the original recording.

Pure analogue signal path

The AOS uses a fully analogue two-stage amplifier design. It does not include any digital circuitry. Because of this, the signal stays clean and natural from input to output.

Low-noise FET input stage

The first stage uses low-noise FET transistors in a parallel design. This setup prevents current from flowing into the cartridge coil. As a result, it protects the cartridge and improves accuracy.

Class A amplification

Both stages run in Class A. The first stage handles high-frequency RIAA equalisation, while the second stage controls low frequencies. Therefore, the sound stays smooth, detailed, and balanced.

Flexible cartridge matching

The AOS allows easy adjustment of loading. You can set resistance from 70Ω to 400Ω and capacitance from 1000pF to 4300pF. In addition, you can increase gain by 6dB. Because of this, the unit works well with many MC cartridges.

Stable performance

A built-in servo system adjusts for temperature changes. This keeps the performance stable at all times. As a result, the sound remains consistent during long listening sessions.

Shielded aluminium chassis

The AOS uses a solid aluminium case to block interference. In addition, it reduces unwanted noise from outside sources. Therefore, the signal stays clean and quiet.

Practical features

The unit includes an automatic standby mode that activates when no signal is present. You can turn this feature off using switches on the back. As a result, the AOS combines high performance with everyday ease of use.
