Introduced in 2014, the Reference Ultime Three followed the much smaller Alumine Two. However, it proved that Stenheim’s core ideas could scale far beyond compact speakers. By combining inert aluminium cabinets with high-efficiency drivers and advanced crossovers, Stenheim created a large floorstander that remains fast, open, and controlled.

Together, these elements create a treble response that feels both detailed and natural.

Passive or active, tailored to the listener

Owners can choose between a passive or active crossover configuration. The active version increases efficiency and improves low-frequency clarity, but it requires bi-amping. Meanwhile, the passive version works with a single amplifier and offers room-tuning options through external crossover units. In both cases, performance remains exceptional.

Precision setup with motorised MTM option

An optional motorised MTM section allows remote-controlled adjustment of the midrange and tweeter angle. This makes fine-tuning far easier, especially given the speaker’s size. As a result, optimal alignment becomes precise, simple, and repeatable.
