the magic radio.

OB–4 is an ultra-thin “orthobook” Bluetooth loudspeaker with a sound that is much larger than its size and an extremely long battery life. It delivers deep bass, crystal-clear highs, and an open, natural sound that fills the entire room.

You can listen via line-in, Bluetooth, FM radio, and disk mode. The interface is minimal and mechanical, but under the surface it hides a much deeper system designed for exploration and experimentation.

OB–4 is made to be played anywhere. On a porch, at a picnic, in a studio, or while traveling. A custom mesh carry bag makes transport easy.

The adjustable handle doubles as an antenna and a stand, making placement and portability simple without adding complexity.

natural sound.

Four engineered speaker drivers create a wide stereo field with clear separation. A flow-optimized bass reflex system produces deep, controlled low frequencies.

72 hrs listening.

A single charge delivers up to 72 hours of FM radio playback, or around 40 hours via Bluetooth. This is made possible by a high-capacity lithium-ion battery system.

the wireless part.

OB–4 supports Bluetooth Classic for audio streaming and Bluetooth Low Energy for remote control via the Orthoplay app and Ortho Remote.

slim and portable.

Despite its powerful output, OB–4 remains compact and easy to carry. The built-in handle allows flexible use across different environments.

motorized user interface.

Users interact through a motorized control system that combines a volume knob and tape reel mechanism. You can grab, spin, and manipulate sound physically.

It uses a brushless motor, hall effect sensors, and intelligent motor control algorithms for precise feedback and motion control.

disk mode.

Beyond standard features like FM radio, Bluetooth, and line-in, disk mode unlocks experimental audio functions. It acts as an evolving sound platform.

Current disk features include:
ambient, metronome, karma, noise, and loop.

memory & time-bending audio.

OB–4 continuously records audio in a rolling buffer. This allows instant rewind, looping, and time manipulation of what you are listening to, like a continuous tape in motion.

magic studio monitor.

With low-latency line input, OB–4 can be used as a portable studio monitor. It works with instruments, turntables, and external audio sources.

It can also integrate into live performance setups, using ambient mode, metronome sync, or loop functions for real-time sound experimentation.
