Description
“Coroa” means “Crown”. This is the name that Emmanuel Babled has chosen for its great chandelier: a “crown” that is like a baldachin, like a merry-go-round. A crown that stands for the sacredness, importance and rite of using a chandelier. Yet, a crown that is capable also of desecrating everything, avoiding symmetries, working on perceptive changes, on the surprise effect. Creating the suggestion of a rotating movement. “Coroa”, a double ring of sheets in mirrored methacrylate or in fire-enamelled plate, compels the user, as it normally happens before a sculpture, to go around it and to try and grasp its secret, sighting from below the magic of the sheets that both cover and reveal it at the same time.
